Doors open at 14:00 there will be some trade stands and refreshments available.

Please note: – To get entry to a workshop you can buy a ticket below but you must also have a festival ticket from you local club. There may be some availability on the door but this cannot be guaranteed.

There are 3 workshop sessions.  Each session has 2 options, you can select A or B

Session 1 – 14_30 – 15_15

Option 1A – Ukulele TAB and Arrangements – Led by Robin Walter

Discover the potential of the humble ukulele to play as though part of an orchestra with a number of popular and classical tunes specially arranged in TAB parts specifically for ukulele

Option 1B – Songs from the Beginners Songbook – Led by Thomas Hiscocks

A selection of ukulele favourites featuring simple chords which anyone can pick up and strum (and sing) along to


Session 2 – 15:30 – 16:15

Option 2A – Introduction to Bass Ukulele – Led by Darren Field

Bring balance to your ukulele group with the introduction of a bass ukulele – the most convenient and portable instrument for delivering low-end sounds

Option 2B – Eric Clapton Unplugged (Level 1) – Led by Thomas Hiscocks

The first of two workshops featuring songs from Eric Clapton’s Unplugged album features the more accessible numbers with friendlier chord shapes


Session 3 – 16:30 – 17:15

Option 3A – Getting your music organised – Led by Bob Harding

Use your tablet or smartphone to keep your music organised.  Learn how to transpose to different keys, change tempo and scroll your songs at the right speed.  Organise into songbooks and playlists (bring your own tablet/phone – ukulele not needed).

Option 3B – Eric Clapton Unplugged (Level 2) – Led by Thomas Hiscocks

The second of two workshops featuring songs from Eric Clapton’s Unplugged albums features some more complex arrangements to stretch your ukulele playing further
